Laws in Boomtown are clear-cut and enforced with precision. The economy must flow, and that means fair trade, responsible innovation, and strict adherence to the policies that keep Boomtown running.
For those who choose to work outside the system, scab work is always an option—but be warned: while not every criminal is a scab, every scab is a criminal in the eyes of the Bureaucratic Union. Those who reject union membership are left to carve out a living through high-risk, high-reward jobs, often found in places where the rules are a little more… flexible. If you keep your ear to the ground and know who to ask, opportunities have a way of finding you—just don’t expect them to come without a cost.

1. Productivity is Paramount
“Work smarter, work harder, but above all, work.”
Every citizen is required to meet their daily productivity targets, as assigned by their rightful manager, or the Treasurer. Non-compliance may result in a Performance Review, which may lead to career transition opportunities.
2. Compliance is Non-Negotiable
“The red tape keeps us running; cut through and we all break.”
Follow all Bureaucratic Union policies, directives, and guidelines. Creative interpretations, loophole exploitation, or outright defiance may lead to career transition opportunities.
3. Loyalty is a Shared Commodity
“When Boomtown calls, you answer.”
All citizens must contribute to communal defense during crises. Absenteeism in critical moments leads to a Loyalty Reassessment, often resulting in career transition opportunities.
4. Trade Fairly, Profit Boldly
“Boomtown thrives on the free exchange of value: no underhanded deals allowed.”
Unauthorized transactions, resource hoarding, or illicit trading is strictly prohibited. Violators will undergo Economic Integrity Reassessment often leading to the seizure of assets and punitive measures.
5. Respect and Protect Assets
“From dirt to data, it all matters.”
All Boomtown assets, be they infrastructure, resources, or human capital, are to be treated with care and respect. Acts of theft, vandalism, or physical altercation can result in public displays of Asset Protection Enforcement.
6. Innovate Within Boundaries
“Push the limits, but don’t cross the lines.”
Innovation is encouraged but must comply with BOTH Bureaucratic and Crafter Union regulations (see BU-417.2 and CU-108.5). Dangerous experimentation, unsanctioned modifications, or hazardous endeavors may result in townwide Innovation Safety Reviews.
7. Disputes are a Managed Asset
“Conflict resolution is a community affair.”
All grievances are to be addressed through sanctioned channels. Personal vendettas, brawls, or subversive behavior may result in HR Intervention.
8. Iron City (which Boomtown is a part of) is Dry.
